KampusbeT ~ " Guus Hiddink admits Chelsea face battle to get back into top four NEXT season "
Agen TangKasneT ~ Guus Hiddink admits Chelsea face a fight to break back into the top four.
The Blues are 13th in the table and will look on as Arsenal, Leicester, Manchester City and Tottenham stage a potential title shoot-out on Sunday.
Hiddink, whose team host Newcastle on Saturday, fears playing in the Champions League would make Leicester and Spurs stronger.
He
said: “The people who have to deal with the near future have to look at
what’s needed to be competitive next year. How strong they must be.
“When you see the other teams with even greater economic
possibilities to make their squads strong... I’m sure they are doing
everything to be even more competitive next year.”
Hiddink
conceded Chelsea could struggle to land transfer targets if they are
unable to offer Champions League football.
Bandar Judi Online TangKasneT ~ Barcelona, Real Madrid and
the two Manchester clubs have joined them in the chase for Everton’s
John Stones.
Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann is another Blues
target. Hiddink, who steps down as interim boss at the end of the
season, said: “The club must offer the ambition, even when you don’t
play in the Champions League next year.
“It’s difficult, but if a club with a big status can offer ambition for the future you can still be attractive to players.”
Hiddink
called on broadcasters, the FA and the Premier League to do more to
help English clubs competing in Europe to be successful.
Manchester City complained to the FA about the timing of their cup
tie at Chelsea – 4pm on February 21, the day before they travel for a
Champions League tie at Dynamo Kiev.
Hiddink suggested switching
league games to Friday nights for clubs with Champions League fixtures
the following week. “One day extra is vital to have them fresh and fit,”
he said.
