Blues striker Diego Costa has been reported for assault by one of Stoke's steward, it has been claimed.

With Chelsea losing 1-0 in the second half, in what seemed an innocuous incident, the Brazilian born forward ran over to collect the ball when it had gone out of play.

As Costa bent down to pick the ball up, he appeared to knock a nearby steward.

He then returned to the pitch and the match continued.

And now that steward has reportedly made a complaint to the referee, saying he was 'assaulted' by Costa.

The news is yet another blow to the beleaguered Premier League champions, who lost their seventh consecutive league game and now sit 16th in the table, three points off the drop zone.
