Kampusbet - Manchester City's Joe Hart says they have found "simple" Champions League recipe for success
Agen TangKasneT - Joe Hart believes Manchester City have finally cracked the Champions League.
The Mancunian Blues proved they have learnt from their past mistakes by producing a near-perfect display against Sevilla on Tuesday to qualify for the last 16 with two games to spare.
England
No 1 Hart was delighted with their performance. The keeper admits City
have been naive in the competition previously and felt they struck the
right balance between attacking and being solid defensively on this trip
to Spain.
“Yeah, I think we managed to do that against a really confident Sevilla side, who play with a lot of attacking intent,” he said.
“I think we set ourselves up well, we controlled the game, we defended well and took our chances well.
“It’s pretty simple, but sometimes we’ve not played to that gameplan.
We’ve been a little reckless.
I think Vinny [Vincent Kompany, City's
captain] has said a few times that we’ve been a little bit naibe and
been caught out, but we were really solid.
Bandar Judi Online TangKasneT - “When we’re balanced
like that, I think that’s when we play our best football. When we beat
Chelsea, we were very balanced, and against Newcastle, so that’s
definitely something we have this year which we didn’t have last year.”
City didn't make their Champions League debut until 2011-12 and have
been in the competition every season since, with the first two ending
with elimination at the group stage and the most recent pair with defeat
in the last 16.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to now finish
top of Group D to minimise the chances of drawing Barcelona for a third
successive season in that first knock-out stage.
Hart is not so bothered and says City do not fear facing any of the big boys.
“We just want to finish top because that would be a great achievement,” said the Blues' England international goalkeeper.
“We’re in the competition to win it, so at some point we’re going to have to play one of those strong teams.”
