Agen Klik4D  ~   Liverpool haven't made a new bid for Schalke defender Joel Matip in this transfer window - but remain hopeful of securing his services in the summer. 

Reports in Germany suggested the Reds had tabled a new bid for the 24-year-old.

But Mirror Football understands the club haven't made an offer but are looking to bring him to Anfield when his contract runs out at the end of the campaign.

Jurgen Klopp has been an admirer of the Cameroonian international since his time as Borussia Dortmund boss and is keen to add the 6'3" centre-back to the Liverpool squad, with the defender said to be up for a new challenge.

Caulker's arrival from QPR is seen only as a short-term measure and he will leave Anfield at the end of the season.

Matip, who has 27 caps for his country, was wanted by Schalke to pen a new deal.

But the player has stood firm over his desire to ply his trade elsewhere next season.
