Agen Klik4D  ~   Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Italian centre-back Luca Ercolani in this window.

The 16-year-old has been on trial with the club for the last few months, impressing sufficiently to earn a contract, report the Manchester Evening News.

 

He is currently under contract at Serie D side Forli, and a compensation fee will be decided by FIFA, due to his tender years.

Ercolani has posted several pictures on his Instagram account of himself at United's Carrington training complex in recent months, including one alongside Under-21s goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara.

United have brought a number of Italian teenagers to the club this century. Giuseppe Rossi arrived in Manchester from Parma in 2004 before Roman duo Davide Petrucci and Federico Macheda arrived in 2008.

Macheda memorably announced himself to the footballing world in 2009 with a glorious stoppage-time winner on his professional debut against Aston Villa as a 17-year-old. 

The next week, he struck another winner at Sunderland as United homed in on their 18th title.

Despite his auspicious start, Macheda never kicked on and was eventually sold in 2014.

Michele Fornasier won the 2011 Youth Cup with United and is now at Pescara and his compatriot, Alberto Massacci, was plagued by injuries at the club.
