KampusbeT ~ " Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp prepared for “the Mother of all games” against Manchester United "
Agen MaxbeT ~ Jurgen Klopp has described the epic battle his Liverpool side will face tomorrow as “the Mother of all games”.
And the Reds boss admitted the gigantic, pressurised showdown with Manchester United is the reason he turned down some of Europe's richest clubs to come to Anfield.
The German manager
could barely disguise his relish for the war ahead, and he made clear
the the significance of the contest between quite possibly the two
biggest rivals in world sport when he said:
“Games like this are
the mother of all football games.
What can I say? All the world is
excited about this game and this chance,” he explained.
“It's the biggest game. I said after the draw I was really happy - not because think it’s really easy but because it’s exciting.

“I
didn’t even know then it was the first time Liverpool have played Man
United in Europe. It’s a great tournament and now everyone else knows.
“The whole of Liverpool and the whole world is excited about this.”
Klopp's reference echoes the infamous statement by Saddam Hussein back in 1991 when he heralded the Gulf War by stating the “ The great showdown has begun; the mother of all battles is under way!”
Yet
the German has not time for the hatred of football rivalries, and
instead chose to concentrate on just how epic and monumental a game
between two genuine opponents can be.
“I don’t believe in enemies in football, I believe in real, real,
real opponents. I like this. I have absolutely no problem with Louis Van Gaal , but the last thing I want is for him to win.

can play best friends but if they're in the wrong shirt for 95 minutes
you can forget about all the common experiences in your life.
“This is what you want when you’re young – you don't have to think about concentrating on the game, it's easy.”
In
fact, Klopp admitted that he came to Anfield for such passionate
nights, despite being targeted by clubs with less history – but more
money – that Liverpool.
And he believes the Kop can play a massive part in helping defeat the
old enemy, by reproducing some of the best moments in the club's fabled
European legend.
“Yes this one of the reasons I took the job, and also why I love football,” he explained.
“In
each region of the world you have games like this...maybe not these big
names, but big enough.
I always thought I would be involved in these
games, and sitting on the bench for Liverpool against Manchester United,
it was what I always imagined."I can’t get enough of this.
“I
hope it’s not the biggest game in my Liverpool career but it’s very
important. I couldn’t imagine years ago that I would be sitting on a
bench while Liverpool played against Man United. It’s one of the best
things I can imagine.
“We are really excited about these two games and everybody has to be
in the best shape in these two games, and that includes the crowd – they
have a role too.
“We can show we can create a better atmosphere
in the first leg than Old Trafford in the second leg. Hopefully tomorrow
we set an absolute new level of the the younger history of LFC.
“I'm sure it's not possible to jump over the best moments in LFC
history, but since I'm here – no problem, it can be the best; we can do
that, let's do it.”
